Run Objects in NAV 2013 using GETURL and HYPERLINK

Here is a small tip (some of you might already know it): the GETURL together with the HYPERLINK can be used to run objects in NAV 2013 (even tables 🙂 ). I am working on a tool to delete records from a database (to ‘clean’ a company from transactional data for example). Part of this tool is a function to view the data in the tables, and for this I needed a way to run a table from the NAV 2013 windows client (not the development environment). To allocate the total costs posted against a production order towards multiple outputs is a bit tricky in standard Microsoft Dynamics NAV, you more or less have to manually separate the different costs and post them against each of the production order lines (this since the cost calculations in Dynamics NAV is per production order line). This is something I first discovered some months ago, and back then I didn’t think that much about it. Recently someone asked me if it was possible, and I thought it would be worth a quick small blog post. Yes, you can sort on multiple columns in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 (with some limitations though). You do it by holding the shift key down while clicking the next column(s).
